Opstal Live took a big step in the direction of theatre shows when we welcomed well known SA actor and performer Frank Opperman to our estate. Frank delivered an excellent comedic performance as Wally Koekemoer, Club President of the Suidelikes Rugby Club in a show where he had the audience’s attention from start to finish. The tempo and emotion of the show was well planned and he played with plenty of clichès in the world of the Afrikaner boytjies and their game of rugby. Hidden away behind all the funny there were some messages and wisdom on life as expected by a play from the pen of Dana Snyman.
In addition to the performance all the guests, from as far as Somerset West and Cape Town, enjoyed a lovely 3 course meal prepared by Opstal chef Allouise Le Roux.
All in all, another memorable Opstal Live evening.
Kaartjies is beskikbaar by die plaas teen R150 (ete ingesluit).

On the 21st of October Steve Hofmeyr landed in our beautiful valley to put on the biggest Opstal Live show to date. A sold out audience of 360 people showed up at the Eikesaal (where we held the event) for a very entertaining evening.
After everyone enjoyed a lovely dinner, Steve’s son, Armand Hofmeyr got the evening started with a couple of his songs. However, you could feel the anticipation amongst the audience for Steve to take to the stage and when he did everyone went mad. He did a range of songs from his newest CD release, Duisend & Een with some nice tunes done in collaboration with the boys from Affies Hoër in Pretoria. After that, Steve took the audience on a tour through memory lane with only his guitar – performing some of his famous first songs from the 80’s and also songs from great musicians like Bob Seger, Kris Kristofferson and of course Neil Daimond.
All in all – it was a very entertaining evening with good food, wine and music and it was evident in his performance that Steve Hofmeyr is one of SA’s biggest stars.
